Beth Symons | Storytelling Works | Performance Works Brighton/Hove

Beth runs our classes in Brighton & Hove. Beth has always performed and trained as an actress, she studied BA Hons in Acting for Stage & Media at London College of Music, she specialises in Comedy and Musical Theatre and has been lucky enough to perform all over the world from Camden to Cairo. Teaching has always complimented Beth’s Acting career - she comes from a family of teachers and has taught 2.5 - 21 year olds drama, dance, singing and everything in between for the past 5 years. The ‘teaching bug’ is very similar to the ‘performing bug’ and Beth certainly has both and she enjoys nothing more than seeing her students confidence grow and their personalities blossom.

Lauren Cesena | Storytelling Works | Performance Works St Albans/Harpenden

Lauren first joined Speaking Works as a volunteer in 2013 after finishing her A-Levels. Lauren spent two years facilitating in local drama and storytelling classes as well as stage schools, working with pupils from 18 months to 18 years old. In 2014 Lauren began a degree in Drama, Applied Theatre and Education at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, which she will be graduating from in 2017. During her degree, she has continued to work with young people, which has involved directing GCSE students, assisting with musical theatre workshops and regularly running drama workshops for primary ages. She currently leads a drama programme in a primary school in London. She has performed and facilitated in various community settings, such as in children’s hospices, with elders with Dementia and vulnerable women. We have been proud to see Lauren go on to do exciting things in the world of drama facilitation and teaching and are excited to have Lauren back now working with Speaking Works!
