Jude Bolton (Millins)
Founder/Director | Voice and Communications Coach
Alongside running Speaking Works Jude is a visiting lecturer at prestigious drama school, The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Previous clients include Vodafone, Ketchum PR, TeachFirst, FDA, Accenture. Jude also tutors voice to business professionals through City Academy.
‘Speaking Works’ was launched in the summer of 2012 to provide essential communications training for children and adults. From 2013 - 2015 Jude also worked as a curriculum and peripatetic drama teacher at schools in Hertfordshire preparing children aged 3-18yrs for LAMDA (The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) and ESB (English Speaking Board) exams. From 2010-12 she worked in Hong Kong at Starlit Learning Centre *now Starlit Voice* where she introduced LAMDA examinations into the curriculum. Starlit is now the official representative for LAMDA in Hong Kong.
After studying English literature at Exeter University and UCLA she went to work in busy office environments in London, working with high profile clients at Save the Children, and as Exec. P.A to the chairman of a leading talent agency. Jude then combined her knowlege of communication skills with a love of drama to teach in Hong Kong. She is skilled in presentation technique and public speaking. As a coach, the combination of her previous roles and the skills that were required give her a unique understanding of how to communicate with authenticity and impact in various situations. Jude believes that excellent communication is about confidently being yourself whilst having an awareness of what you are saying and the impact of your physical and vocal expression.
In 2014 she completed a diploma in speech and drama in education with LAMDA (LSDE) receiving a Distinction. In 2016 Jude completed an MA in Voice Studies at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
